Universal Design
CVS often provides assistance in making simple modifications to workplace designs, task procedures or routines to allow for employees with disabilities. We have found on numerous occasions that the employers choose to make the changes widespread across all employees because it is simply a more efficient way to get the same work done. This is called “universal design.” CVS staff are trained in task analysis and universal design and can help you establish efficient and accessible work processes.
Customized Employment
Customized Employment is the creation of unique job descriptions that are tailored to your business needs but that also fit the skills and strengths of our applicant. These solutions have been proven to increase workforce efficiency, promote teamwork, minimize overlapping job duties and streamline workflow.
Some common examples of customized employment include:
- Folding Pizza Boxes: Creating a job for someone to specifically fold pizza boxes allows more highly skilled and higher paid employees to focus their time on more value added activities, such as customer service.
- Shredding and Photocopying: Your extremely versatile and valuable clerical staff may spend several hours a week shredding documents or collating photocopies. By creating this as an entry level position, your more experienced staff can attend to more complex tasks.
- Food Prep and Side Duties: Daily preparation and side duties are typically divided amongst several wait staff at the beginning or ends of shifts. By creating a position to meet these specific needs, your wait staff can be utilized more efficiently to serve customers.
Our job developers are trained in task analysis and finding cost efficient solutions for your business.
