On-Going Supports
If you have a developmental disability and are in need of ongoing support services contact the Division of Developmental Disabilities to determine your eligibility for these services. http://www.dshs.wa.gov/ddd/ CVS is also able to contract for private pay services.
Once determined eligible, CVS hosts a Person Centered Plan meeting to determine your interests, strengths and capabilities. A goal plan is developed and is the guide to services provided. Goal plans are reviewed and revised as an individual’s needs or interests change.
CVS believes that everyone can and should work. It is our job to help figure out how to make that happen. Every individual we work with is on a pathway to employment. Many of our participants are already employed. In these situations we support people to obtain future goals like learning new tasks, earning more money, or finding more challenging employment options. We also provide services for people who may not have as much work experience and have higher support needs. The “fast track” is not always as effective. We are able to support people to gain work skills and determine their interests by assisting them in volunteer opportunities. With all of the services we provide the ultimate goal is a paid job, how we get there is always an individual plan, everyone we work with is a unique person and no two pathways to employment look the same. We offer the following ongoing services:
- Person to Person: helps individuals in determining vocational interests, building work skills, increasing communication and building relationships.
- Group Supported Employment: provides supervision of paid work for groups of individuals (fewer than 8) working in an enclave setting or on a mobile crew.
- Individual Employment: assistance with finding or retaining individual jobs in the community.
